I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and board certified clinical supervisor in the State of Texas. I currently work in a private practice setting in the heart of Houston, Texas. I am experienced in assessing and treating individuals of all ages, and I specialize in working with adolescents and families utilizing mentalization-based treatment. In addition, I utilize family systems, psychodynamic, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and interventions in my work with clients. My expertise and passion lies in working with individuals diagnosed with personality disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked in a number of mental health settings including acute intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization program (PHP), short term residential (RTC) program, and acute and long-term inpatient psychiatric hospitals. Prior to starting my private practice in 2015, I served as senior social worker and therapist at Menninger Clinic for 7 years on the Adolescent Treatment Program.
I have presented at local and national conferences and workshops, teaching clinicians mentalization-based treatment. My clinical interests include emerging personality disorders in adolescents, attachment trauma, and family and group psychotherapy.
I am currently Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and Clinical Instructor at Baylor College of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and from the University of Arkansas Little Rock in 2007 with a Master Degree in Social Work.
